Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 October 2026

This policy explains what Doubtshala collects when you use the platform, why we need it, who processes it and how you can remove it.

Information we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash).
  • Study profile: exam, subjects, preferred language and chosen mentor personality.
  • Voice and session data: audio from your doubt sessions, transcripts, generated summaries, notes and topic-level performance signals.
  • Usage data: session length, voice minutes consumed, plan and feature usage.
  • Payment data: subscription status and payment reference IDs. Card and UPI details are handled by our payment provider and never stored by us.
  • Technical data: browser type, device type and error logs needed to keep the service working.

How we use it

  • To run live voice sessions and produce spoken explanations.
  • To generate session summaries, revision recommendations and strength and weakness analysis.
  • To personalise how the mentor teaches you over time.
  • To enforce plan limits and daily voice minutes fairly.
  • To provide support, prevent abuse and fix technical problems.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your voice to advertise to you.

Service providers

To deliver voice conversations we share the minimum necessary data with trusted processors: a speech-to-text and text-to-speech provider (Deepgram and Google voice models), large language model providers for generating explanations, and our cloud database and storage provider for saving your account, transcripts and recordings. These providers process data on our instructions only.

Advertising & Cookies

We may show advertising on our public educational pages, such as the Learning Hub, to keep study content free. Advertising is never shown inside your private dashboard, doubt history, live AI sessions, or payment pages.

  • Google AdSense and third-party advertising: we may use Google AdSense and other third-party advertising partners to serve ads on public pages. These partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: cookies are small files stored on your device. We and our partners use them to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure traffic, and — on public pages — to serve and measure advertising.
  • Personalized and non-personalized advertising: where permitted, ads may be personalized using information about your visits. Where personalized advertising is not permitted or you have opted out, you may still see ads, but they will be non-personalized (contextual).
  • Google's advertising privacy controls: you can control or turn off personalized ads from Google at any time through Google Ad Settings (adssettings.google.com). You can also opt out of many third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
  • Third-party advertising partners: third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits. Each partner processes data under its own privacy policy.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking advertising cookies does not affect your ability to use Doubtshala's learning features.

Storage and retention

Transcripts, summaries and learning signals are kept while your account is active so the mentor can remember your progress. Session recordings are retained according to your plan and can be deleted from the session page at any time. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data and session content, except records we must keep for tax, accounting or fraud-prevention purposes.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with row-level access rules so that only your own account can read your sessions. Access by our team is limited to what is needed for support and troubleshooting.

Children and student accounts

Doubtshala is intended for students aged 13 and above. If you are under 18, please use the platform with the consent of a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian can contact us to review or delete a minor's data.

Your rights

You can access and correct your profile from Settings, export or request a copy of your session data, and delete your account and content. See the Data Deletion Request page for the exact steps, or email privacy@doubtshalaai.in.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date above and notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
